Africa Design Award (& Days), founded by designer Hicham Lahlou, is an initiative designed to enhance and value Design in Africa. Africa Design Award & Days is driven by influential members and experts from around the world, all passionate about Africa and sharing the same vision of progress for the continent. Africa Design Award & Days aspires to position Africa at the heart of the global design scene, a strategy that aims to create one of the largest emerging design networks in all countries and across all categories. This major initiative represents a first for design in Africa. For the founder of the project, the designer Hicham Lahlou, Africa Design Award & Days is a vision for Africa, beyond the creative force of the talents of the continent; it is an ambitious bet that will place design at the heart of a dynamic of progress and of coherence for future projects.

Africa Design Award is the event branch, showcase and expression of this ambitious project, with the support of influential members and experts from around the world, all committed to positioning Africa at the heart of the global design scene. In 2014, under the patronage of HE Ali Bongo Ondimba, and with the remarkable support of Richard Attias and the New York Forum Africa, the world's first Pan-African Business Summit of which he is the founder, Award ceremony of Africa Design Award 2014 was held on May 25 in Libreville, Gabon. In 2015, Africa Design Award & Days teamed up with the ONA Foundation to organize Africa Morocco Design Award 2015, a unique event that featured more than 40 international designers from over 10 African countries, including creators and craftspeople from Morocco. In 2017, Africa Design Award is organizing an event to be held from 28 to 30 June 2017 in Rabat, Morocco, hosting the 4th WORLD DESIGN TALKS.

Africa Design Award is a project that has been very important to me for several years. Moroccan by birth and African by essence, it is a great pride for me to create a bridge between my passion, design and my birthplace, Africa. And it is with the help and support of influential high-quality members and experts from all over the world, all passionate about Africa and sharing my vision of progress for the continent that I’ve launched this new initiative. The ambition is to position Africa at the heart of the global design scene, a strategy that aims to create, around a unifying continent, one of the largest emerging design networks, all countries and all categories combined. Africa Design Award is a vision for Africa, beyond the creative force of the continent's talents, it is an ambitious bet that targets design at the heart of a dynamic of progress and coherence for future projects.
